Unlisted security exchange rises 0.12% in a week

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) stock exchange posted weekly growth of 0.12% in the 32nd trading week in 2022, led by three companies; CitiTrust Holdings Plc, Afriland Plc, Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria Plc.

Over the past week’s five trading days, key performance indicators for the unlisted securities exchange rose, with the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) rising 0.91 points to 762.18 points from 761 .27 points and the market capitalization increasing from 1 billion naira to 1 naira. 003 trillion compared to the N1.002 trillion achieved the previous week.

During the week, CitiTrust Holdings Plc gained 8.2% to settle at N11.90 per unit, up from the previous rate of N11.00 per unit, Afriland Plc rose 7.8% to 1 N.10 per unit from N.1.02 per unit while Friesland Campina Wamco Plc rose 0.4% to N90.35 per share from the previous N90.00 per share.

The market also saw price declines, with Food Concepts Plc down 4.2% to sell at 91 Kobo per unit, from 95 Kobo units the previous week, Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc fell by 0.7% at N209. 84 per share vs. N211.22 per share, while NASD Plc lost 0.06% to trade at N16.18 per unit vs. N16.19 per unit.

During the week, there was a 53.1% decrease in total transaction value to 142.7 million Naira from 304.0 million Naira, total volume however increased by 6.5% to 1.8 million units from 1.7 million units, while the number of transactions increased by 46.5% to 63 transactions from the 43 transactions made the previous week.

At the weekend, Food Concepts Plc was the most traded stock by volume with 994,000 units. NDEP Plc traded 581,283 units, CitiTrust Holdings Plc traded 108,683 units, FreislandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc traded 49,590 units, while Afriland Plc traded 42,841 units.

In terms of deal value during the week, NDEP Plc topped N134.0 million, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc followed with N4.5 million, CitiTrust Holdings Plc posted N1.3 million, 11 Plc recorded N949,860 while Food Concepts Plc raked in N902,214.

In the year so far, investors have traded a total of 3.2 billion units in 1,840 transactions valued at N22.5 billion.
